BKFC 28 Results, Ferea stops Starling in under a minute

The Land of Enchantment is host to its very first sanctioned Bare Knuckle boxing event. BKFC 28 is an eleven-fight card headlined by Taylor “Killer Bee” Starling challenging Christine “Misfit” Ferea for her BKFC Women’s Flyweight  world championship.

Jeremy Sauceda rebound from an early knockdown to stop Roderick Stewart in the second round with uppercuts on the ropes. Jayme Hinshaw wasted no time making a mark in the first ever BKFC Atomweight fight. Hinshaw at the whistle came right at a Cassie Robb, who had beat Hinshaw in MMA six years ago in the same venue. The second meeting was a totally different story as Hinshaw ripped off flurries of hooks busting Robb open and forcing the ref to jump in. In Heavyweight action John Watson nearly stiffened Kyle McElroy up against the corner with an overhand right. Watson found the finish with a combination of hooks. In the main card opener Zion Tomlinson scored a first round knockdown of Josh Moreno with uppercuts on the ropes. Moreno stormed back in the second round hurting Tomlinson with a right to the temple leading to a left cross right uppercut for the finish. A swiping left hook from Antonio Soto III cut Josh Morales open under his left eye. The ref would stop the fight after Morales took a knee from an uppercut, the third time he was knocked down. Eric Dodson took just 23 seconds to make a successful professional fighting debut stopping Nick Villar with a right cross. Wilfredo Santiago walked down Jake Young with his jab. Once on the inside the “Brown Bomber” scored four knockdowns in the first round. The first three credited to his left hook. Young awkwardly falling on the first knockdown.  The final knockdown from a overhand right. After the first round the doctor assessed that Young was not fit to continue. The first fight to reach the judges saw Jeremy Smith take a decision win over Donald Sanchez. Five rounds of Smith marching forward with hooks and blasting uppercut on the inside while Sanchez was sticking and moving on the outside. Brad Kelley  and Issac Vallie-Flagg fought to the score cards with Kelley greeting the decision  on the strength of right hands at the end of his combinations. The left hands of John Dodson scores three quick knockdowns of Ryan but night with a final one for the knockout in 40 seconds. The main event would only last 47?seconds as Ferea clipped Starling a couple times with the left. Right hands in the clinch followed. Starling after the knock down telling her corner she couldn’t continue but they urged her to do so. One one big punch from Ferea had Staling retreating and the ref jumping in.
