Payment issues Arise in Wake of Triller Fight Club in Rio Rancho -

A week after Triller Fight Club, Tapia Fight Night the event is back in the news for the wrong reasons.

At this time it appears that the majority of the card has not been paid. Multiple sources have confirmed to cagedminds that the account in which payments were issued from has been frozen.

Triller Fight Clubs Tapia Fight Night was a joint promotional event put on by Joseph Kelly & Teresa Tapia. The 8-fight professional card also featured an amateur contest showcasing Niko Tapia. The Main Card features unbeaten Abel Mendoza, Team Tapia, Stallworth, Josh, pitbull Torez, 2016, Olympic bronze medalist, Nicco Hernandez, and former WBO titleholder Jason Sanchez we’re all on the card.

In a taken down Facebook post Joseph Kelly is alleged to have written $46,000 in bad checks on February 24th. It’s also speculated that Kelly is involved in several lawsuits for doing this very same thing to other fighters in other states.

It’s believed that at least one fighter on the card has been personally reimbursed by Teresa Tapia. But we couldn’t confirm. We also heard that Teresa is doing everything in her power to fulfill the financial commitments of the unpaid contracts.

We’ve reached out to Teresa Tapia and the New Mexico athletic commission for comment and at the of publishing we’ve yet to hear back.
