“El Alacrancito” fighting for WBA title in Wales
Albuquerque Jason “El Alacrancito” Sanchez (16-3-0) is set to face Zelfa “Brown Flash” Barrett (28-2-0) for the 130lbs vacant WBA Continental Super Featherweight Title.
The bout is scheduled for twelve rounds of boxing’s with Sanchez taking the opportunity on a couple weeks notice.
“El Alacrancito” is fighting out of his family gym Sanchez Brothers Boxing in Albuquerque’s South Valley. The former WBO title holder is coming off a TKO win over Rafel Reyes in Rio Rancho, NM. Sanchez was able to display great technical power and relentless pressure in his last outing with Reyes. We spoke with Sanchez post fight he said he was ready for whatever came his way and that is now a title shot against Zelfa Barrett.
Barrett himself is coming off a tough TKO loss to Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov. The Manchester based fighter has 28 win with 16 by knockout.. The fight will be taking place at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales this Saturday April 22nd 2 PM ET on DAZN. Both fighters are very exciting and have their own separate set of strengths and technical boxing abilities which is a recipe for a great fight.
