BKFC & Albuquerque based Group Launching “The Prospect League”

A group including two Women who have been around the highest levels of boxing are now getting into the Bare Knuckle business.

Bare knuckle Fighting Championship is partnering with the newly formed Liga MVL/ ‘Mi Vida Loca’ to create ‘The Prospects League’.

Liga MVL/ ‘Mi Vida Loca’ is compiled of longtime Boxing promoter Teresa Tapia, the widow of former World Champion Johnny “Mi Vida Loca” Tapia, Lisa Garcia the mother of Super Boxer Ryan Garcia , NBA veteran and former UNM Lobo Kenny Thomas, and veteran television boxing producer Scott Tetreault.

In July BKFC announced the development of the prospect series. Many great fighters go to the BKFC tryouts but due to roster space aren’t signed. The prospect series is a pipeline to a BKFC contract where those fighters get an opportunity to impress. In August in Miami the first prospect series event took place with six-fighters earning contracts.

“The Prospect League” is expected to put on events in 2024 with cards that include a mixture of amateur & professional bare knuckle bouts throughout the Southwest.

Today’s announcement deepens the ties of what has already been a very successful relationship between BKFC & New Mexico. The state has hosted three events so far BKFC 28, the prestigious Knucklemaina 3, and BKFC 48 where hometown fighter John “The Magician” Dodson became the first BKFC Flyweight champion.
