Rumors are True, PFL has acquired Bellator

Two of the worlds, biggest MMA promotions are now officially under the same umbrella. 

The long rumored acquisition of Bellator MMA by PFL has been finalized. A press release today made the news official. 

This past Friday, Bellator, 301, while not officially announced, it felt like a farewell. show. Three days later, it has been officially announced that the PFL has acquired Bellator MMA.

Bellator will not be going away as It turns out, but will not be operating in the same capacity. 2024 will see the launch of the Bellator International Series in major cities around the world. Eights event throughout the will consist of co-headlining title fights.

The Bellator International series joins the PFL League Season, PFL PPV Series, PFL Challenger Series, PFL International Leagues under the umbrella of entities owed by the PFL leading to what the company is now calling a “Global MMA Powerhouse”. We also have to wonder how this new addition will impact PFLW announced a few months ago.

The company also plans to stage a mega event in 2024 pitting PFL champions against Bellator champions in seven different weight classes. This week the PFL League Champions will crown champions in six different weigh-classes and Bellator is home to nine  champions.

PFL chairman Donn Davis has offered Bellator MMa president and his team the opportunity to stay aboard according to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.
