Ferea Defends BKFC Title against World Champion Boxer in May
It was only a matter of time before BKFC put together a major crossover fight in the women’s division.
The promotion will be making its Connecticut debut May 11 at the Mohegan Sun Arena. In the main event of BKFC 61, BKFC women’s flyweight champion Christine Ferea defends her title against Heather Hardy.
Ferea had been vocal about her desire for a fight with combat sports superstar Cris Cyborg. Those conversations have obviously been tabled for the time being.
A vet of Muay Thai and MMA, Ferea has found her stride in Bare Knuckle. The Las Vegas based fightsd has won six in a row. The last four have all come with the championship ring n the balance. “The Misfit” has made the most of her opportunities from toeing the line and has taken the initiative to grab attention and not wait for tit to come to her.
Hardy has been a professional boxer since 2012. Hardy also pushes her self for greatness just like Ferea and ventured over to MMA for four-fights with Bellator MMA. The Brooklyn Bourne fighter went the distance coming in August with unified women’s Featherweight Boxing world champion Amanda Soriano. Over her illustrious career Hardy has held WBC and WBO titles.
