Yoruba Moreu | Victorious Tonight At 2024 USA Boxing National Open.
Live in Albuquerque, NM some say the fight capital of the world, for this week the host of USA Boxing’s 2024 National Open. Bringing almost over a full week of top-notch boxing to the Duke City.
Fighters From all over the world came out to showcase skills and try and earn their way to the next level such as Floyd Maywearther and Muhammad Ali did in their times.
Cagedminds.com was live on scene to speak with Luke Santangelo who is the Marketing and Communications Director for USA Boxing. Santangelo said “Albuquerque is a central area and close to the hometown of USA Boxing which is a neighboring state Colorado which makes for a great Location”.
The Albuquerque Convention Center recently has been hosting another national sport, the NCAA track and field. Day one was a great turnout as we saw hometown pugilist Yoruba Moreu take on Albert Sostre from Georgia at 125 lbs in ring 1. Round one both fighters came forward with the pressure and were landing hard punches, Moreu found a steady pace as the fight went on and was able to land the more devastating shots. In round three Moreu landed a beautiful combo that knocked down Sostre and that’s what ultimately sealed the deal. Yoruba Moreu earned a decision win and moves on.
