Nightmare, The Diego Sanchez Documentary opens April 19th

Acclaimed documentarian Charlie Minn’s latest project “Nightmare”, the story about Albuquerque’s Diego Sanchez hits the Big Screen April 19th.

Charlie Minn has done Harding hitting films such as Fentanyl Unlimited, Nightmare in Las Cruces, & The Kids of Santa Fe. Minn returned to Albuquerque where he was a sportscaster for quite a few years to find the subject of his next film, mixed martial arts pioneer Diego Sanchez.

Sanchez graduated from Del Norte High School after winning a state championship in wrestling in 2002. In 2005 Sanchez won  the ground breaking first season of The Ultimate Fighter which is currently recording its 32nd season. Sanchez climbed the ranks in the UFC all the way to challenging for the UFC Lightweight Championship of the world in 2009.  A wrestler, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner, Mixed Martial Artist, and in 2023 a Bare Knuckle Fighter.

Sanchez is a deeply spiritual person who’s had many highs and lows. A devoted father Sanchez has battled his demons while walking legendary path.

Nightmare will shown at the Icon and Premier cinemas in Albuquerque starting April 10th. While details haven’t been released it’s expected that the film like most of Minn’s other work will head to a streaming service after its time in theaters.
