Cowboy vs. The Dirty Bird Headlines UFC Fight Night 82
Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (28-7) will be moving up a weight class to 170 lbs. for his next fight which will headline UFC Fight Night 82, against fellow New Mexico resident Tim “The Dirty Bird” Means (25-7-1).
Cerrone, just 2 weeks ago suffered a 1st rd TKO loss in a failed bid to dethrone Rafael dos Anjos from atop the Lightweight (155 lbs.) mountain. The loss ends a 8 fight win streak for the man who trains out of the Jackson-Wink gym and his own BM Ranch. During the win streak Cerrone knocked out Adrian Martins and Jim Miller, as well TKO-ing John Makdessi.
Means, 3 weeks ago with a picture perfect left hook knocked John Howard out cold at UFC Fight Night 80. For Means the leader of the New Mexico WildBunch, the win was a rebound from a UFC 189 submission loss to Matt Brown; that ended a 4 fight win streak, which included a TKO of Dhiego Lima.
Cerrone has 20 of 28 wins via stoppage with 15 wins coming via submission, while Means has 21 of 25 wins via stoppage with 17 coming via knock out.
UFC Fight Night 82 is on February 21st, at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
