Bellator sets up Slice-Thompson II for July
Sunday night, Bellator MMA, head man, Scott Coker announced that Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson (6-2) vs. James “The Colossus” Thompson (20-16) II, would headline Bellator 158, in London.
There first meeting back in 2008, under the Elite XC banner, saw Ferguson score a come from behind, controversial, 3rd round TKO; with Thompson bleeding from a busted cauliflower ear.
Ferguson is coming off a 3rd round TKO win over “Dada 5000″, at Bellator 149, which due to a positive steroid test has been overturned to a no contest. It’s being rumored that the punishment for Ferguson has been handed down by the Texas commission as a 90 day suspension, retroactive to February 19th. Thompson is 6-7 since that 1st fight with Ferguson and has lost 2 straight, by TKO, to Bobby Lashley and Tsuyoshi Kosaka.
The event which will be the promotions debut in England, will take place on July 16th at the O2 Arena. It’s also rumored that the co-main event will be the 2nd encounter between Paul Daley and Josh Kosheck.
