Mitrione vs Thompson added to Bellator 158
Following a come from behind knock out win, it was announced that Matt Mitrione will make a quick turn around to be back in the Bellator cage at Bellator 158 against fellow UFC vet, England’s own Oil Thompson.
In the early going of his Bellator debut Matt Mitrione (10-5) got clubbed by a right hand, but managed to survive and with a diving-in right hand while Seumanutafa was on his back scored the KO win. The win ends a 2 fight losing streak and the knock out is the 9th of “Meatheads” career.
In 2015 Thompson (17-8) went 5-0, with 2 TKO and 2 decision wins. Prior to this streak Thompson has went 3-6, including going 0-3 in 2014. Back in 2012 a 5 fight win streak saw “The Spartan” sign with the UFC, but he was released following consecutive stoppage losses.
Bellator 158 is July 16 at the O2 Arena in London England.
