Sandhagen welcomes Dillashaw back to the UFC
After along time away it’s always nice to see a familiar face.
Following in that thinking the UFC is having Cory Sandhagen welcome back his former training partner to the UFC Octagon. Dillashaw has been gone for 28 months due testing positive for the performance enhancing drug EPO, the same substance that famed cyclist Lance Armstrong was popped for.
Sandhagen is the number two ranked contender in the bantamweight division. “The Sandman” has roared back from losing a number one contenders’ bout to Aljamain Sterling with flair & devastation. Knocking out Marlon Moraes with a wheel kick & flattening Frankie Edgar with a picture-perfect flying knee.
TJ Dillashaw won the UFC bantamweight title and defended it twice before losing the belt to Dominick Crus. After back to back decision win Dillashaw was set to challenge for the gold, but this time it was around the waist of his former teammate Cody Grabrandt. Dillashaw would regain his title and win the rematch both by knockout. It was then time for a new challenge. Dillashaw decided to drop to flyweight to win a second title. Henry Cejudo would retain his flyweight title in just 32 seconds, and this is when Dillashaw would test positive for EPO.
