UFC Fight Night San Antonio adds Smith Against Ferreira
The Legacy FC Lightweight title is now a vacant as titleholder Carlos Diego Ferreira (9-0) has gotten the call up to the UFC and his first opponent will be TUF 16 winner Colton Smith (3-3) at the UFC Fight Night San Antonio.
Smith defeated Mike Ricci by unanimous decision to winner the TUF tournament as a Welterweight. After a TKO loss to Robert Whittaker, Smith had the move to Lightweight. Smith’s divisional debut didn’t go smooth as he would tap out to a Michael Chiesa rear naked choke.
Ferreira won 5 of his first 6 pro fights by submission and since inside the Legacy cage by decision defeated Carlo Prater, Chris Feist, and Jorge Patino.
UFC Fight Night San Antonio takes place on June 28, at the AT&T Center; headlined by Jeremy Stephens vs. Cub Swanson in a top contender Featherweight match-up.
