Semmy Schilt Retires
Glory Kickboxing Heavyweight champion Semmy Schil has decided to retire.
Semmt Schilt is a 4-time K-1 World Grand Prix champion in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2009. Schilt is the only fighter to ever win 3 Grand Prix’s in a row. At the Dream18/Glory 4 Tokyo, December 31, 2012 super show Schilt won the one night 16-man single elimination Heavyweight tournament to become the Glory Heavyweight champion. In the tournament Schilt defeated Brice Guidon (KO), Rico Verhoeven (UD), Gokhan Saki (UD), and Daniel Ghita (TKO).
Schilt also fought in MMA competing in Pancrase, Pride and the UFC. Schilt is a former King of Pancrase, who has 24 of 26 win by stoppage; with 15 KO/TKO’s and 9 submissions. Schilt retired from MMA in 2008 riding a 3 fight winning streak. The last win came over Siala-Mou Siliga by triangle choke, submission, at K-1 Dynamite Power of Courage 2008.
The almost 40 year old Schilt ends his kickboxing career with a (43-6-1) mark, while going (26-14-1) in MMA action.
