Akira Corassani out, Steven Siler in vs. Mike Brown

The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale: Weigh In

Aikra Corassani (11-3) has had to withdraw from his scheduled UFC on Fox Sports 1 1 bout with former WEC Featherweight champion Mike Brown (26-8) and will be replaced by fellow TUF 14 alum Steven “Super” Siler (22-10).

After the WEC-UFC merger Mike Brown lost back to back contests to Diego Nunes and Rani Yahya. Brown has since battled back to defeat Nam Phan and Daniel Pineda. Brown wrestled with the idea of retirement but instead has decided to reenter the field of battle and on August 17, will again compete inside the octagon. Brown has 18 of 28 wins by stoppage with 13 submissions and 5 KO/TKO’s.

At the TUF 14 Final Steven Siler would defeat Josh Clopton by unanimous decision. “Super” would also score victories over Cole Miller and Joey Gambino before gridded out and dropping a decision to Darren Elkins. Silver has since got back in the win column with a decision victory at UFC 159 over Kurt Holobaugh.

UFC on Fox Sports 1 1 takes place on August 17, at the TD Bank Garden in Boston, Massachetts; and is headlined by former UFC and Pride champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. the biggest trash talker in MMA Chael Sonnen.
