Bellator Parts Ways with Paul Daley & Miaquel Falcao
Bellator MMA has released Welterweight Paul “Semtex” Daley (33-12-2) and Middleweight Maiquel “Big Rig” Falcao (31-5); after both men have had recent run-ins with the law.
Daley has been convicted of assaulting and obstructing a police officer, while Falcao was the antagonist of a brawl at a gas station in Brazil that left his teammate Kaue Mena in a coma; the incident was captured by security cameras and shown on the news in Brazil.
Paul Daley has won 4 fights in a row all by KO/TKO, since signing with Bellator, but only fought once in the promotion defeating Rudy Bears; due to visa and the aforementioned legal issues. Most recently Daley defeated Lukasz Chlewicki at Cage Warriors Fighting Championships 57.
Maiquel Falcao won 4 fights in a row, including the season 6 Middleweight tournament; before losing to Alexander Shelmenko in a battle that was for the then vacant Bellator Middleweight championship. Falcao has even been told he is no longer welcome with with his now former gym, the Renovacao Fight Team.
