Dillashaw vs. Assuncao & Wisniewski vs. Guimares added to UFC on Fox Sports 1 3
A pivotal Bantamweight match-up has been added to the first Fox Sports card in Brazil with TJ Dillashw (8-1) meeting Raphael Assuncao (20-4). Also a Welterweight bout pitting Keith Wisniewski (28-14-1) against Marcelo Guimares (8-1-1) has been announced for the September 4th event.
Dillashaw a member of Team Alpha Male has won 4 fights in a row over Walel Watson (UD),Vaighan Lee (SUB), Issei Tamura (KO), and Hugo Viana; since losing to John Dodson in the finals of TUF season 14. Since a Ufc debut loss to Erik Koch, Assuncao has defeated Johnny Eduardo (UD), Issei Tamura (TKO), Mike Easton (UD), and Vaughan Lee (SUB) in consecutive bouts.
Wisniewski return for his second stint in the UFC on a 6 fight winning streak. 2 fights into his second stint Wisniewski in 0-2 with a TKO loss to Josh Neer and a split decision loss to Chris Clements. Guimares entered the UFC having won 6 consecutive bouts. Two fight into his UFC career Guimares is 1-1 with a debut split decision win over Daniel Stittgen; and will now look to bounce back from a KO loss to Hyun Gyu Lim.
UFC on Fox Sports 1 3 takes place on September 4, at the Jornalista Felipe Drumond Stadium in Belo Horiaonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil; and is headlined by Glover Teixeira vs. Ryan “Darth” Bader in a Light Heavyweight showdown.
