Koch Out, Curran In RFA 9 Bantamweight Championship Match vs Munhoz
Re-breaking his hand, will coast Keoni Koch (5-0) the chance to be the inagural RFA Bantamweight championship. Pedro “The Young Punusher” Munhoz (8-0) will instead take on Jeff “Big Frog” Curran (34-15-1) who is now ready to compete after pulling out of RFA 8, where Curran was to face Sergio Pettis for the inaugural RFA Flyweight championship.
Pedro Munhoz, who trains at Black House and Kings MMA. “the Young Punisher” is 2-0 in RFA, having submitted Bill Kamery and Mitch Jackson. Munhoz has 5 of 6 stoppage wins by submission.
Jeff Curran the leader of team Curran had been competing in MMA as a pro since 1998. Curran recently defeated Joshua Killion by unanimous decision, bouncing back from consecutive decision losses to Johnny Eduardo and Scot Jorgensen in The UFC. “Big Frog” has 19 of 20 stoppage wins by submission.
RFA 9 takes place on August 16 at the Stubhub Center in Los Angeles, California.
