Birchak vs. Jones to Crown MFC Inaugural Bantamweight Champion at MFC 38
The MFC has announced that in the co-main event of MFC 38: Behind Enemy Lines, Apex MMA’s Anthony Birchak (10-1) will battle MMA Inc’s Tito Jones (10-6) for the honor of being the inaugural MFC Bantamweight champion.
Birchak has won 4 fights in a row with consecutive TKO wins over John Green, Roman Salazar, and Matt Leyva. Most recently Birchak in his MFC debut defeated Ryan Benoit by unanimous decision, at MFC 37 in what was sure to be a fight of the candidate.
Tito Jones is a former Strikeforce competitor who will make his MFC debut on the strength of a 3 fight winning streak,which comes on the heels of a 3 fight losing streak. Jones during the current winning streak has defeated Giovanni Moljo, Deven Jones, and Larry Digiulio.
MFC 38: Behind Enemy Lines takes place on October 4th, at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
