Bellator has put this match-up together dude to Light Heavyweight champion Attila Vegh being on the shelf with an injured shoulder. This isthe 2nd title fight bout announced for the card with a Lightweight title rematch between Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler

Since losing to Newton in the semifinals of the season 8 Light Heavyweight tournament, “King Mo” has defeated Seth Petruzelli (KO) and Jacob Noe (TKO); to win the four-man summer series Light Heavyweight tournament.

Emanuel Newton won the season 8 Light Heavyweight tournament by submitting Atanas Djambazov, knocking out Muhammed Lawal, and getting the judges nod against Mikhail Zayats.

Bellator 106 takes place on November 2, at the Long Beach Convention Center in California. The main event will see a clash off Light Heavyweight legends when Quinton “Rampage” Jackson squares off with Tito Ortiz.
