Benavidez vs. Johnson II Headlines The TUF 18 Finale
Joseph Benavidez (19-3) and Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson (18-2-1) met the first time in the co-main event of UFC 152 to decide the inaugural UFC Flyweight champion, a bout that Johnson would win by split decision; and now they will meet a second time in the main event of the TUF 18 Finale, with Benavidez now challenging Johnson for the UFC Flyweight title.
Johnson since becoming champion has successfully defended his belt twice, earning a unanimous decision win over John Dodson1; and submitting John Moraga.
Benavidez since losing to Johnson has won 3 fights in a row. At UFC 156 Benavidez defeated Ian McCall by unanimous decision. Darren Uyenoyama fell to Benavidez by TKO at UFC on Fox 7. Most recently at UFC Fight Night 28 Benavidez cemented himself as the number 1 contender with a 1st round stoppage victory over Jussier da Silva.
The TUF 18 Finales takes place on November 30th, at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
