Glory 12 Lightweight Tournament & Schilling vs. Barrett Middleweight Title Bout
Joe Schilling (16-4, 10 KO’s) at Glory 10 shocked the world in his home town of Los Angeles and won the 1 night 4 man tournament to become the Glory Middleweight champion. Schilling’s s first title defense will come on November 23, in the main event of Glory 12 New York, in Madison Square Garden; against undefeated Wayne Barrett (3-0, 3 KO’s).
Schilling at Glory 10 bettered both Kengo Shimizu and Artem Levin by decision to win the Middleweight tournament. Schilling who comes from a Muay Thai background is lethal in the clinch with the knees and elbows.
Barrett in 2 pro kickboxing bouts both under the Glory banner, has TKO’ed Mike Lemaire and knocked out Robby Plotkin; in very impressive fashion. Barrett is a boxing based striker and former golden gloves champion, light on his feet, strong and accurate with the hands; and hits crazy angles.
The co-main event will see Heavyweights Jamal Ben Saddik (24-3, 20 KO’s) and Ben Edwards (35-9-3, 31 KO’s) collide.
