WSOF Signs Rousimar Palhares
World Series of Fighting has announced the signing of controversial UFC vet, Brazilian Welterweight submission artist Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares (15-5).
Palhares was released from the UFC after holding a heel hook submission on Mike Pierce for several seconds extra after Pierce, taped out. Palhares was suspended in 2010 for a similar situation.
Palhares in his time in the octagon went 8-2, with 7 of the wins coming at Middleweight. The win over Pierce was “Toquinho’s” debut at Welterweight and snapped a 2 fight skid. Palhares has 11 of 12 stoppage wins by submission with 8 via heel hook.
