With 4 bouts in place for the main card WSOF has now started to set up the preliminary portion of WSOF 8 with the recent announcement of 4 match-ups, for the January 18, event at the Seinole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, in Holywood, Florida; featuring 2 title bouts.
In a Heavyweight match-up featuring the Florida rivalry Blackzilian member Scott “The Bear” Barrett (13-3) faces American Top Teams Derrick “Caveman” Mehman (16-5). These two men combined have 21 knockout between 29 wins.
In a Lightweight scrap Luis Palomino (21-9) takes on Rich Patishnock (5-1). Palomino is 5-2 in his last 7 fights, and will be looking to bounce back from a CFA 12 loss to Efrain Escudero. Patishnock is 2-0 in WSOF action with wins over Igor Gracie (TKO) and Gregor Gracie (UD).
In a Flyweight fight Renzo Gracie fighter Sidemar “Sideco” Honorio (8-4) tangles with American Top Teams Alexis “The Exorcist” Villa (13-4). Honorio. Honorio will be looking to end a 2 fight losing streak, while Villa is coming off a Promotional debut loss that snapped a 2 fight winning streak.
Looking to extend his 6 fight winning streak Freedy Assuncao (7-1) meets fellow Featherweight Brenson Hansen (5-1), who has won 3 fights in a row.
