Horiguchi Injured, Martinez Meets Cariaso at UFC 169
Due to injury Kyoji Horiguchi (12-1) has withdrawn from a scheduled UFC 169 bout with Chris “Kamikaze” Cariaso (15-5), who will instead welcome Danny “The Gremlin” Martinez (16-4) to the octagon.
Cariaso recently stopped a 2 fight losing streak with a 2nd round TKO victory over Iliarde Santos, at UFC Fight Night 29; to improve to 2-2 as a Flyweight.
Martinez who has been fighting as a pro since 2006, currently is on a 4 fight winning streak that includes TKO wins over Nick Boyd and Rich Bonafidini.
UFC 169 takes place on February 1, at the prudential Center in Newark , New Jersey; and is headlined by “The California Kid” Urijah Faber challenging Renan Barao for the UFC Bantamweight title.
