Pennington & Scoggins Replace Injured Pena & Montague at UFC 171
A undisclosed injury for Darrell Montague (13-3) and a severe knee injury for Juliana Pena (5-2) have forced both fighters off the UFC 171 card.
Montague was scheduled to face Will Campuzano (13-5) who will instead tangle with Justin Scoggins (8-0). Pena is being replaced by Raquel Penningotn (4-3) against Jessica Andrade (10-3).
Pena could be sidelined lined for 2 years after having torn her ACL, MCL, LCL, meniscus, and hamstring.
Campuzano will be looking to bounce back after a on short notice unanimous decision loss to Sergio Pettis, ruined his return to the octagon and snapped a 5 fight win streak; in smaller shows.
Scoggins at UFC Fight Night 33 made his promotional debut scoring his 6th career and 5th win in a row by (T)KO, defeating Richie Vaculik in the 1st round.
Pennington ended a 2 fight slide at The TUF 18 Finale defeating Roxanne Modafferi by unanimous decision.
Andrade in her last outing bounced back from a TKO loss to LizCarmouche to defeat Rosi Sexton by unanimous decision.
UFC 171 takes place on March 15, at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas; headlined by Johny “Bigg Rigg” Hendricks and “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler for the vacant UFC Welterweight title.
