Tavares Injured, Andrade Steps Up to Face Tuhugov
The injury beg will delay the Featherweight debut of Thiago Tavares who was scheduled to face Zubair Tuhugov (15-3) at UFC Fight Night 36 and will instead be battling fellow promotional newcomer Douglas De Andrade (22-0-0-1, nc).
Tuhugov has won 6 fights in a row with 3 knockouts and 3 decisions, while De Andrade on a 22 fight winning streak has 17 of his last 19 wins by knockout; including his last 7 straight wins.
UFC Fight Night 36 takes place on February 15, at the Arena Jatagua in Jagaua Do Sul in Santa Catrina, Brazil; headlined by a Middleweight bout between former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida former Dream and Strikeforce world champion Gegard “The Dreamcatcher” Mousasi.
