*Controversy at the end of the fight. The last thing this reporter got to see was Jess Martinez lifting up Ruben Arroy for a slam. The next I see Martinez is celebrating than be pushed into a corner of the cage and be yelled at by a New Mexico Athletic Commission member. The commission member was yelling and in the face of Martinez. My view was block dude to a commission member who was circling around the cage sopping in front of the table I was seated at. The Commission has no comment on the situation after I asked what happened. From the 2nd hand information I gathered the slam that Martinez landed could have been called a spike( which is where you drive your opponents head into the mat). This move is illegal. I also got 2nd hand information that Martinez landed extra punches as the ref was trying to pull Martinez off Arroyo.The Martinez camp said via facebook messenger that everything was good to them and they had no problems on their ended. I’ll do my best to keep you up to date on if anything else develops with this story.
