Koreshkov Challenges Lima for Welterweight Gold at Bellator 140
The Bellator Welterweight title will be on the Line Friday July 17th, at Bellator 140 when Russia’s Andrey “Spartan” Koreshkov (17-1) challenges Brazilian Douglea “The Phenom” Lima; who will be making his first title defense.
Koreshkov has won 4 fights in a row since failing to capture the Bellator Welterweight title at Bellator 97. Koreshkov has 10 of 13 stoppage wins by knock out. Most recently Koreshkov defeated Adam McDonough by unanimous decision.
Lima has won 5 straight all by knock out including at Bellator 117, when by corner stoppage in the 2nd round “The Phenom” stopped Rick Hawn to claim the vacant Bellator Welterweight title. Lima has 3 stoppage wins with 12 knock out and 11 submissions.
