Bellator 142 “Dynamite” Features MMA & Kickboxing
Prior to Bellator 138 the promotion announced that they will be presenting Bellator 142 on September 19th in San Jose, California; with the main event seeing Liam McGeary defending the Bellator Light Heavyweight title against Tito Ortiz.
It was also announced that “Mr. Wonderful” Phil Davis, Linton “The Swarm” Vassell, “The Hardcore Kid” Emanuel Newton, and “King Mo” Muhammed Lawal will be competing in a one night tournament to become the next to get a Light Heavyweight Championship opportunity. The 2 semifinals will be 2 5-minute rounds if a 4th judge getying the final decision if a bout is scored a draw. The tournament final will be set for 3 5-minute rounds.
This event will see a cage and a ring setup next to each other. Knock out artists Joe “Stich em up” Schilling and Paul “Semtex” Daley will both be in action in the glory ring. More MMA and Kickboxing bouts are expected to be added.
