Johnson now meets Manuwa, not Blachowisz at UFC 191
Cleared to get back to action, the UFC has decided to insert Jimi “Poster boy” Manuwa (15-1) against Anthony “Rumble” Johnson; leaving Jan Blachowiz (18-4) awaiting a new opponent for September 5th.
Johnson will be looking to get back in the win column following a UFC 187 3rd round submission loss to Daniel Cormier, which ended a 8 fight win streak, that included 6 knock outs.
Four months ago in Poland Manuwa rebounded from a 2nd round TKO loss to Alexander Gustafsson, with a unanimous decision win over Jan Blachowicsz. Manuwa has 14 of 215 wins by stoppage with 13 knock outs.
Blachowicsz will be looking to rebound from the aforementioned loss to Manuwa, which ended a 6 fight win streak.
UFC 191 is on September 5th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada; and is headlined by John “The Magician” Dodson challenging Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson for the UFC World Flyweight Championship, for the 2nd time.
