April 1st WSOF Presents Event with Double Main Event
April 1st the WSOF Welterweight Title hopefully will be vacant no longer after Jake Shields (31-8-1-1) and Jon Fitch (27-7-1-1) do battle for the 2nd time.
The co-main event will see WSOF Light Heavyweight and Middleweight champion David Branch (17-3) will defend the 185 lbs. strap against Clifford Starks (13-2). Branch has won 7 straight. Branch will be back at Middleweight for the 1st time since a WSOF 15 TKO of Yushin Okami. Branch’s last 2 wins have come up at 205. Starks has won 5 straight ans is 3-0 in the WSOF, having defeated Jake Heun (sub), Mike Kyle (ud), and Krasimir Mladenov (ud).
Sheilds is 2-1 in with submissions of Ryan Ford and Brian Foster, but will be looking to rebound from a submission loss to the former WSOF champion Rousimar Palhares, who in notorious for holding submission way after the tap out nad causing injury to opponents Fitch is 3-2 in 5 trips inside the hexagon coming off a unanimous decision win over Yushin Okami.
