Dana White Announce Conor McGregor’s New Opponent for UFC 196
With Rafael Dos Anjos sidelined by a foot injury, Dana White has announced that Nate Diaz has won the, who’s going to face Conor March 5th lottery.
News about who would serve as replacement had been flying around as Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo turned down the fight; Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone both also volunteered for duty. But in the end it was the middle-finger throwing, f-bomb dropping, Nate Diaz; who after his win at UFC on Fox 17 sent a special ti-raid on the microphone directed at McGregor.
Diaz is 2-3 in his last 5, with win coming in impressive fashion over Michael Johnson (ud) and Gray Maynard (tko). Diaz is a member of the Scrap Pack and the Caesar Gracie Fight Team, who has 11 of 15 stoppage win by submission; but is renowned for  his Boxing.
McGregor is 7-0 inside the octagon with 6 (T)KO, including a one-punch 13 second knock out of Jose Aldo at UFC 194, to become UFC Featherweight Champion of the World.
UFC 196 is on March 5th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las vegas, Nevada; and also features Miesha Tate challenging Holly Holm for the woman’s UFC Bantamweight World Championship.
(update) It’s been announced that McGregor vs. Diaz will be a Welterweight Contest (170 lbs.)
