Compete Card for Southwest Brawl 3
Next Saturday, April 2, the Las Cruces Convention Center will play host to Southwest Brawl 3, a 13 bout MMA pro/am card. The nights main event will see Antonio Jones (1-0) clashing with Hector Ochoa (3-2).
Coming off a very successful amateur run, Jones won his pro debut with a 3rd round TKO of Billy Colon. Hector Ochoa is a 3-2 as a pro, coming off a WSOF 15, split decision win over Robert Reed.
The nights co-main event has seen a bit of a change as Maurice “The Hulk” Jackson (3-1) has stepped up on short notice to replace Moando Rivas and face Mando Montoya (8-4). Jackson has won 2 straight, but hasn’t fought since scoring a 2nd round TKO of Raul Frias, back in September of 2014. Montoya has 6 of 7 stoppage wins by way of submission, but will be looking to halt a 2 fight skid.
The pro card will also see in a featured 125 lbs. bout undefeated Johny Guillen (2-0) against winless Ben Acosta (0-1). As a pro Guillen has submitted Joseph Daniel Veloz and defeated Aaron Gomez via decision. Acosta will be looking to rebound from a 2012 submission loss to Mike Maldonado (accoring to sherdog & Tapology).
Getting the main card started will be a Middleweight scrap between Red Spider MMA’s Randy McCarty (5-5) & Fit NHB’s Sidiah “Rolling Thunder” Parker (13-6). McCarty is always down to fight ring or cage. Inside the cage McCarty has won 2 in a row with a decision Manuel Otero and a 1st round TKO of Samuel Trevino. Parker has 5 of his last 6 and 2 straight with a 1st round TKO of Billy Martin and a split decision victory over Brandon Hunt.
