Fresquez Promotions Presents Rumble on Route 66 April 2nd
The hiatus from putting on events for Fresquez promotions has ended, as they’ve announced that MMA will be back at Route 66 Casino on April 2nd. The main event of Rumble on Route 66 will feature Veteran, Barber, JacksonWink fighter, Albuquerque’s own Conrad Padilla (5-2). Standing across from Padilla,
who’ll be in his 4th straight man event, is Chevy Bridges (4-1), a Rio Rancho resident who came to us from Oklahoma. Bridges has fought the majority of his career on the Midwest regional scene and is known for a aggressive wrestling style. Bridges is on a 3 fight win streak having submitted Rowdy Wilbourn and scoring back to back TKO wins over Adam Snook and Xavier Estrada. Bridges besides Padilla, and possibly the crowd, Bridges will also be battling ring rust as his last fight was in April of 2014. According to Bridges this layoff has been to problems with securing a fight.
Padilla was last in action in May of 2015, when on short notice he made his pro Boxing debut and fought then 6 fight vet Antonio Martinez to controversial split decision loss. From the amateurs to the pro ranks Padilla has always demonstrated a powerful striking style and a willingness to put on a fan friendly fight. Padilla has a pair of win by TKO and last had his hand raised on July of 2014, when he defeated Isaiah Reyes via unanimous decision. As we said Padilla will be in his 4th straight main event, but will be looking to rebound from a April, submission loss to Clay Wimer.
