Gonzalez vs. Cervantes Headlines Jackson’s MMA Series XIX
June 25th the Jackson’s MMA will be back at the Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino with Jackson’s MMA Series XIX headlined by a Bantamweight bout between Bellator vet Nick “Saint Nick” Gonzalez (3-2) and undefeated Stephen “Scrappy Doo” Cervantes (6-0).
Gonzalez fights out JacksonWink MMA and started off 3-0, with 3 stoppage wins; 2 submissions and 1 TKO. Dude to a knee injury Gonzalez’s hasn’t fought in the cage since a Bellator 91 submission loss to Adrian Cruz. In May of 2015, Gonzalez got back into combat sports, making and losing his pro Boxing debut to a then 2-1 Patrick Holmes Jr. Gonzalez comes into the cage with a great technical knowledge of all aspects of MMA an veteran savvy .
Cervantes fights out of Lutttrell/Yee MMA, and has earned 2 stoppage wins in his career, both coming via submission. Most recently Cervantes scored a split decision win over Bellator vet Shawn Bunch. Cervantes is an explosive athlete, who was a high school wrestler, and has also found great success in local grappling tournaments.
