Woman’s Featherweight Champion to Be Crowned at Bellator 155
The inaugural Bellator Woman’s Featherweight champion will be the winner of Marloes Coenen (23-6) vs. Julia Budd (8-2), set for Bellator 155.
Marloes Coenen hails from the Netherlands and is a former Strikeforce Bantamweight an Featherweight champion. Coenen even fought Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino for the inaugural Invicta Featherweight title, losing via 4th round TKO. Since signing with Bellator Coenen has submitted Annalisa Bucci and Arlene Blencowe.
Canada’s Julia “The Jewel” Budd has won 6 straight since a November 2011, 1st round, submission loss to Ronda Rousey. Budd has won her last 3 fights all by unanimous decision, defeating Charmine Tweet at Invicta FC 7; and beating Gabrielle Holloway an Roberta Paim Rovel since joining Bellator.
Bellator 155 is, May 20th at the Century Link Arena in Boise, Idaho; and is headlined by knock out artist Melvin “No Mercy” Manhoef challenging Rafael Carvalho for the Bellator Middleweight Championship.
