King of the Cage Will Power Announced for August 13th
The Embassy Suites will play host to KOTC “Will Power” headlined by a Welterweight battle between Steve Hanna & Cesar Zamarippa.
Known as a submission guy, Steve Hanna of Fit NHBis on a 3 fight win streak, with 2 of those victories coming via TKO. Zamarippa how hails from Mexico, comes to brawl as was evident in the fight of the night against Antony Rozema at King of the Cage “Evolution”.
The night co-feature will see Fit HNB’s “Freak Strong” Turrell Galloway, who has 5 of 6 wins via submission against Jordan Hernandez of Kansas, who has 2 submissions an 1 knock out win on his record.
The pro card will also see the pro debut of heavy handed Joshua Moreno, who’s fighting out of Judgment MMA, and went 3-0 in his amateur run, against Colorado’s Matt Cook. Also there is a current opponent search underway for a female 125 lbs-er to face Fit NHB’s, Nicco Montano, who has a very dangerous ground game. Later this year Montano is expected to challenge for the KOTC woman’s Jr. Flyweight title.
On the amateur side the finals of the southwest amateur Lightweight champion tournament will take place with Santa Fe, NM, Jesse Martinez faceingt El Paso, Texas’s, Javier Rodriguez. In the first round of the tournament at KOTC “Ascension”, Martinez defeated Fernando Sanchez with a 33 second TKO; while Rodriguez defeated Chase Emener with a TKO 41 seconds into the 2nd round.
Card also features local amateurs from FIT NHB, Judgment MMA, Jackson/Wink, Clube de Albuquerque Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Lookouts PFS, High Altitude MMA, Impulse MMA, 10th Planet BJJ, Santa Fe BJJ, US AK Punishment, and many more!
