Caldwell Out, Higo Faces Dantas at Bellator 177
Injury has forced Darrion Caldwell to with draw from Bellator 177. Instead, in his promotional debut former RFA & LFA, Bantamweight champion, Leandro “Ptibull” Higo will challenge Eduardo Dantas for the Bellator Bantamweight title.
Dantas is on a 3 fight win streak, that includes winning the Bellator Bantamweight title by unanimous decision over Marcos Galvao and defending it, with a majority decision win over Joe Warren. Higo has 10 of 13 finishes by submission and is on a 8 fight win streak. In his last fight Higo showed a full skill set in defeating Steven Peterson to become the first ever LFA Bantamweight champion.
The card has also gained a pair of fights with Ukranian, Lena Ovchynnikova facing England’s Helen Harper in a Woman’s Flyweight bout and in the men’s Featherweight division Germany’s Daniel Weichel faces Brazilian John Teixeira.
Bellator 177 takes place on April 14 at the Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary.
