UFC Fight Night 116 Quick Results
The UFC is in the Steel City, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for UFC Fight Night 116, at the PPG Paints Arena. The Main Event is a Middleweight contest between former number 3 ranked contender Luke Rockhold & number 9 ranked David Branch.
Rockhold is former Strikeforce & UFC Middleweight champion, returning to the octagon for the first time since losing the the title to Michael Bisping in June of 2016. The loss ended a dominate 5 fight win streak, for the American Kickboxing Academy product, who trained with Henry Hooft in south Florida for this fight. Brooklyn, New York’s Branch is on his 2nd stint with the UFC, going 2-2 the first time. A 10 fight win streak, that now stands at 11, along with capturing the WSOF Middleweight & Light Heavyweight titles earned Branch his way back to the octagon.
These two fighters share the similarity of Confidence. Rockhold cocky and arrogant, Branch a bit more street and brash. Both men like throwing there hands and have a avid love of Boxing. Rockhold has the stronger kicking and wresting game from what I’ve seen. Both men are well versed in submissions with Branch having the higher ranked BJJ belt.
