Havoc in Hobbs 7 Recap & Quick Results
Club La Serra in Hobbs, New Mexico hosted School of Hard Knocks Promotions Havoc in Hobbs VII, a 6 fight card headlined by Victor “War Dog” Hernandez against Derek “Rage” Perez.
Daniel Martinez open the night up with a quick TKO of Justin Strada. Martinez landed a few hard low leg kicks deadening up Strada’s leg and then knocking Strada down with a right hand. Finally forcing the ref to jump in after follow up ground and pound. Aaron Taylor landed a huge right hand into a double leg take-down, but Andre Mitchell would lock in and after several adjustments get the tap via triangle choke in the first round. Chase Emener dragged Gabriel Kaisas into a grappling battle and in the 2nd round Kaisas showed his back to Emener who jumped right on, pulled them to the ground and finished the fight with a 2nd round rear naked choke. Alex Galvan put Mateo Cordonero on his back in the first and second rounds, but in the 2nd it was Cordenero being the aggressor off his back. In the third Galvan would get another take-down, but would get swept. Cordonero would work knees to the body and elbows while holding the top position in round 3. All three judges would see the fight 29-28 unanimous decision for Mateo Cordonero. BJ Hurst threw a hard leg kick at Steve Navarro, then followed up with a double leg take-dow. Navarro apparently hurts his shoulder in getting taken down. Hurst reigned down rapid fire punched till the ref jumped in. In the main event as expected Perez and Hernandez swung wildly looking for the knockout. Perez stung Hernandez with a short right hand and the contest then became a grappling match. Hernandez hit a suplex, Perez scrambled to top position. After one big right hand Hernandez gave his back, Perez sunk his hooks in and finished the fight with a rear naked choke in under a minute.
