Trio of Fights announced for Bellator Hawaii
The champ asked to defend her title at home and Bellator MMA has granted Illima-Lei Macfarlane’s wish.
Illima-Lei Macfarlane (8-0) will make her second defense of the Bellator Women’s Flyweight title against former UFC title challenger Valerie Letourneau (10-6). Macfarlane has finished 6 of her 8 victories, 5 by submission, 4 armbars, and has won her last 3 all by armbar. In June Macfarlane defended the title for the first time finishing Alejandra Lara in the 3rd round. The challenger is 2-0 in Bellator with decision wins over Kate Jackson & Kristina Williams.
The event will also see the promotional debut of from UFC champion Lyoto “thje Dragon” Machida who’ll take on former Bellator Middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho. Machida has won 2 straight, a split decision over Eryk Anders & knocked out Vitor Belfort. Carvalho has 12 knock outs in 15 victories, but looks rebound from losing his tile to Gegrad Mousasi at Bellator 200.
Lastly the Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix Quarterfinals match-up between undefeated fighters Neiman Gracie & Ed Ruth will take place. Ruth (6-0) is coming off his 5th win by knock out taking care of Andy Muard in June. Gracie scored his 7th victory by submission, with a arm triangle choke of Javier Torres at Bellator 198.
The event set for December 15 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu will stream on DAZN.
