Bellator Announces “Salute the Troops” Featuring Primus vs. Chandler 2

Bellator has announced the front part of a Hawaiian Double header that will see the long awaited Lightweight title rematch.
Bellator MMA and the USO are teaming up to present “Salute the Troops” taking place at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, the night before the venue hosts Bellator 213. The event will be free for for troops of the U.S. Armed Forces, as well as their friends and families.

18 months ago Brent Primus ran his undefeated record to (8-0), dethroning Michael Chandler (18-4) of the Bellator Lightweight crown with brutal leg kicks, leading to a TKO by injury. Primus hasn’t fought since, due to injury having pulled out of the first scheduled rematch in April, while Chandler has fought twice beating Goiti Yamauchi by decision and submitting Brandon Girtz.

The co-main event will see vicious submission artist, former UFC Heavyweight champion, Frank Mir (18-12) against Javy Ayala (10-7), a heavy hitter, who’s biggest win came when he knocked out Sergei Kharitonov at Bellator 163.
