Results for week 8 of 2019 Contender Series
The TUF Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the eighth week of the 2019 season of Dana White’s Contender Series.
This week’s main event is a Light Heavyweight contest, between unbeatens Herdem Alacabek from Sweden faces Connecticut’s William “Nightmare” Knight. Alacabek has fought his last 3 bout fights for the LFA, finishing all 3 in the first round. Knight has all of his wins by knockout.
The co-main event is at Welterweight, Brok “Chata Tuska” Weaver, who’s on a 6-fight win streak, faces Devon “The Prodigy” Smyth, who’s on a 9-fight win streak. In the featured fight position we have women’s Bantamweight action, Shana Young, who’s 2-0 in 2o19, takes on, LFA champion Sara “Too Sweet” Alpar, who hasn’t fought since winning the title at LFA 55 this past November.
At Bantamweight, CES champion Tony Gravely, who is on 6-fight win streak, squares off with LFA vet Ray “The Judge” Rodriguez, who’s coming off consecutive stoppage victories. The current jerker has LFA Light Heavyweight champion, Lithuania’s Julia’s Anglickas meets Karl “No Worries” Reed, who’s won 4 in a row since losing on the Contender Series in 2017.

Bantamweight: Tony Gravley (19-5) def. Ray Rodriguez (15-6) by TKO (punches) 2:16 R3
Light Heavyweight: Julius Anglickas (7-1) def. Karl Reed (6-2) by submission (rear naked choke) 3:25 R3
This week Dana White awarded UFC congrats to Tony Gravely, Sarah Alpar, Brok Weaver; & a developmental contract was given to William Knight.
