Trio of New Additions to UFC 244
Three new fights have been added to the Ultimate Fighting Championships November return to MSG, including “The Pitbull” versus “Bigi Boy”.
For his third fight in the octagon Jaiz Rozenstruik will take on former champion Andrei Arlovski. Rozenstruik won his promotional debut in February at UFC Fight Night 142, stopping Junior Albini in the 2nd round. “Bigi Boy” followed up the performance by knocking out Allen Crowder in 9 seconds at UFC Fight Night 154. In July Arlovski ended a 3-fight skid, defeating Ben Rothwell by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 146.
In welterweight action number 9 ranked contender, former two-time title challenger, Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson faces number 14 ranked contender, Brazil’s Vicente Luque. Thompson a Karate world champion, who’ll be returning to action for the first time since being knocked out in the main event of UFC Fight Night 148, by an Anthony Pettis Superman punch. Luque is 10-2 in the UFC, currently riding a 6-fight win streak, 5 stoppage in that span, 4 of which are by TKO.
Lastly at Featherweight action Julio Arce is set to square off with “Mean” Hakeem Dawodu. Arce is 3-1 in the UFC since earning a UFC contract on Dana Whites Contender Series. Arce is coming off his most impressive victory knocking out Julian Erosa with a head kick at UFC Fight Night 152. Since being submitted by Danny Henry in his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 127, Dawodu has won 3-fights in a row. The man nicknamed “Mean” is coming off knocking out Yosinori Horie by head kick at UFC 240.
UFC 242 takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York on November 2nd.
