Trio of bouts announced for the UFC’s first trip to Kazakhstan
For the first time the Ultimate Fighting Championship will be in Kazakhstan in June with a big time bout in the bantamweight division.
June 13th at the Astana Arena in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, will be a UFC Fight Night on ESPN+. The main event will see number one ranked contender Marlon Moraes against number three ranked Petr Yan. Moraes has won five of his last six fights. The former WSOF champion is coming off a split decision win over featherweight great Jose Aldo. Yan is on a nine-fight win streak including five straight wins to start his UFC career. Yan was last in action at UFC 245 scoring a third-round knockout win over hall of famer Urijah Faber.
In flyweight action Contender Series vet, Jordan Espinosa welcomes Kazakhstan’s own Zhalgas Zhumagalov to the octagon. Espinosa looks to right the ship after a rough start to his UFC career has seen him go 0-2 at this point. The Luttrell/Yee fighter has nine stoppage wins, seven by submission. Zhumagulov has earned his UFC contract with four straight decision wins.
In light-heavyweight action Russia’s Khadis Ibragimov, who has four wins by submission, battles unbeaten Roman Dolidze, who has five of his six win by knockout.
