UFC Fight Night Poirier vs. Hooker Results

UFC Fight Night Poirier vs. Hooker taking place at the UFC Apex. The entire 10-fight card  will be televised on ESPN & streamed on ESPN+, prelims at 6 p.m. ET, main card at 8 p.m. ET.

The prelims started off with Youssef Zalal winning his third in a row and making it 2-0 inside the octagon. Defeating Jordan Griffin by unanimous decision. The second youngest fighter on the UFC roster, Kay Hansen made a spectacular forcing Jinh Yu Frey to tap from armbar while also having a triangle choke secured. Tanner Boser scored his first UFC win by knockout, landing a seven-punch combination that left Philipe Line out cold. Khama Worthy made it two for two in win and finishes in the UFC, forcing Luis Pena to tap from a high-elbow guillotine choke.

On only four-days notice, Julian Erosa hands Sean Woodson his first professional loss. Two rounds of back and forth action in  the pocket, Erosa saw the chance jumping on a D’Arce choke in the third round getting the tap. Takashi Sato made short work of Jason Witt who took the fight on Thursday. Sato starched Witt with a straight left and kept firing the left for the finish. In a tests on wills, Brendan Allen defeated Kyle Daukas by unanimous decision. Allen busted open Daukas in the first, scored a knock down to end the second, and had several submission attempts, while surviving have his back taken for three minutes of the final round. After two rounds of exchanging leg kick, Gian Villante landed a huge left hand for a knockdown, Greene then pulled out a arm-triangle choke from the bottom for the win.  Stalking forward with power punches plus success on the ground in the second & third rounds, saw Mike Perry better Mikey Gall by unanimous decision. In an epic war of attrition Dustin Poirier defeats Daniel Hooker by unanimous decision.  Hooker came out strong mixing his weapons and damaging Poirier with calf kicks. Poirier continued to press forward scoring with his punches and body kicks. Hooker countered with takedowns where Poirier was the more active party attempting multiple submission. The encounter now joins the short list of Fight of the Year candidates.
