“Knucklemania” announced for Super Bowl weekend
The NFL isn’t the only ones planning a big event for the first weekend of February in the Tampa area.
February 5th Bare Knuckle FC presents “Knucklemania” at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida. The main event will see the debut of free agent signee Paige Van Zant against Britain Hart. Van Zant a Invicta FC & UFC vet has an 8-5 record in MMA, along with mainstream notoriety from participating on Dancing with the Stars. Hart bounces between competing in traditional Boxing, where she has fought 11 times going 4-4-3 & Bare Knuckle where she’s 1-2, but in November stopped Randie Elkholm at BKFC 14.
The co-main event will be a BKFC bantamweight title bout between UFC vet Johnny Bedford & Nat Nguyen. The two were scheduled to meet in November but Bedford had to withdraw due to injury. Bedford is 5-0 in Bare Knuckle with knockouts of Nick Mamalis & Abdiel Velazquez. Nguyen is 2-0 in Bare Knuckle including also knocking out of Abdiel Velazquez.
In a special attraction fight, UFC vet, TUF 1 alum, Chris Leben looks to rebound from a decision loss to Dakota Cochrane from BKFC 6, when he faces Quentin Henry who is 2-0 for BKFC.
