Ray Borg set for return to Action
“The Tazmexican Devil” will be back in the cage in Abu Dhabi in June.
The news was first reported by MMA Junkie. A bit over a year after a split decision loss to Ricky Simon, Ray Borg (13-5) is scheduled to face Jesse Arnett (18-6) in a bantamweight contest at a UAE Warriors event on June 19th.
Borg a former flyweight title challenger in the UFC, had a short-lived retirement after being released from the promotion at the end of last summer. During his time with the UFC Borg scored wins over Louis Smolka, Jussier Formiga, & Rogerio Bontorin. A tenacious grappler the Jackson’s Acoma fighter has racked up six of his seven finishes by submission.
Arnett is currently riding a three-fight win streak, coming off a split decision win in January at UAE Warriors 15. The Canadian has had a 12-fight win streak at one point in his career that included notable wins over well-known veterans Roland Delorme, Darrick Minner, & Johnny Bedford.
