Luna vs. Gonzalez now headlines School of Hard Knocks August 7th Boxing Card
The card is subject to change and sometimes it turns out for the best.
For undisclosed reasons Adam Ramirez has been forced to with from facing Mario Gonzalez (4-0) on August 7th. Instead, the Hobbs native will square off with Seminole, TX native Luis Luna (2-0) in the nights main event.
Luna has been a professional fighter since 2009. Most of his experience has come in MMA where he’s accumulated a 16-8 record while competing for notable promotions such as Shark Fights, Legacy FC, & LFA. Luna first ventured into the Boxing ring in December 2018 beating Isaac Sifuentez by TKO and got the same result when he fought Isreal Rodriguez in November of 2019.
Gonzalez one of the top prospects coming out of the Hobbs fight community has collected three of his first four wins by knockout. At the last Boxing show New Mexico held before the pandemic began we saw the 27-year-old put on a show, working the body, knocking down Brad Greick three times in the first. Finishing the fight with an overhand right in the second for his third win by knockout.
Not just cause he’s from Texas but it sounds cool too, Luis Luna is a gun slinger. He’s the kind of competitor that would fight every weekend if he could. Luna always brings the fight to his oppnent and put on a show. He’s the perfect challenge for a prospect like Gonzalez.
